Description: My boyfriend (a vegetarian) and I (a vegan) stayed in Óstán Oileán Acla (Achill Island Hotel) and I spoke to the receptionist before arriving to ensure they would have a vegetarian and vegan dish for us for breakfasts and dinners. They not only met our dietary requirements but the chef had a whole separate menu for us that consisted of all vegetarian and vegan foods, mostly vegan. They were very accommodating and very understanding of our needs. We had a large variety of dishes to choose from and they even bought in soya milk, yogurt and butter for me which I thought was very sweet and helpful. I would recommend staying in this hotel if you have any special dietary requirements or even if you just love beautiful scenery and pleasant locals.... Achill Island is beautiful.
A sample of the vegan dishes that were prepared for me are: vegan pancakes with berries, falafels with salad, vegetable soup, vegetable curry, vegetable stir fry, stuffed peppers, fruit salad, rice pudding etc.
