Description: Thai restaurant in Athlone with several vegetarian/vegan options. I'm told (by the owner!) that it's the only Thai restaurant in the country that specialises in provincial style cuisine normally unavailable outside of Thailand. One of the owners is Thai. It's on the Castle side of town, just up from Sean's bar, behind a coffee shop called Slice of Life. Some dishes available: fresh spring rolls - rice noodles, bean sprouts, spring onions, carrots and fresh coriander - served with home made sweet chilli sauce (€6.50). A typical vegetarian maincourse costs €12.95. This would be a red, green or yellow curry - made with coconut milk, fresh lemongrass, spring onions, bamboo shoots, aubergine, galangal, peppers and fresh Thai basil. Alternatively, another popular main course is steamed or stir fried vegetables with fresh tofu and home made peanut sauce - €8.95.

A limited selection of vegan and veggie curries for Sunday lunch, but at 10 euro each, and completely delicious, very well worth it!
